About beans:
This season’s Kenyan coffees, whether the beloved natural-processed Gachiku or the classic washed Kivanga, all come from our trusted partner — Kamavindi Coffee Lab. Although they operate their own estates, as technical consultants and exporters, they also collaborate extensively with farms and cooperatives to continuously elevate the quality of Kenyan specialty coffee.

This particular lot is from a four-year project between Kamavindi Coffee Lab and Rumukia FCS. The project focuses on purifying SL28 and SL34 varieties while separating Batian and Ruiru 11, in order to achieve a cleaner, more consistent, and more concentrated classic SL profile.

The dry aroma of this Kenyan is refreshingly bright with clear citrus and lemon notes. In the cup, vibrant citrus acidity is accompanied by fragrant lemon zest. As the temperature drops, the sweetness and acidity become even more pronounced, beautifully revealing layers of raspberry and red plum.
