About Beans:
We have always had a deep appreciation for the coffees from Esmeralda Estate’s Guabo plot. They consistently offer higher acidity brightness, greater complexity, and more layered flavors.
The Guabo plot is located within the El Velo farm, which Esmeralda acquired in 2012. Spanning 50 hectares, El Velo ranges in elevation from 1650m to 2900m, with coffee currently cultivated between 1650m and 1900m. Guabo is one of the highest plots in El Velo, with an average altitude of 1850 meters.
This Guabo 3BANC lot was harvested on January 30, 2026. The cherries were first pre-dried on raised beds for 3 days, then underwent 5 days of anaerobic fermentation in stainless steel tanks inside a low-temperature room (15–18°C), and finally dried for 32 days in a controlled cold room with precise temperature and humidity management.
This coffee showcases the signature bold floral character of Esmeralda’s BANC processing: intense coffee blossom and elegant jasmine notes, accompanied by the lush sweetness of peach and a long, honey-like aftertaste with beautiful sweetness and finish.
